Lochend Learning Community

Learning for Life

Lochend New Learning Community was formed in 1999. The management of the local schools was organized into local clusters or learning communities. The heads of the associated schools and nurseries meet as the senior management. They work in partnership with social work, health, psychological services and the voluntary sectors to improve the children’s life chances.

Lochend Community High works with associated Primary and Nursery Schools to focus on the needs of all pupils, their families and the wider community.

The principal goals are care, education and personal development of all young people.

The aim is:

  • to raise standards of attainment for pupils, and
  • provide extra help and support for children
and parents where it might be needed.

By working closely together with parents, those involved make sure that the children are at the centre of all they do.

The partners in Lochend New Learning Community are:
