Glasgow Digital City Award 2005

Has Technology Made a Positive Difference to You? For example

  • Has technology helped you keep in touch with family members, especially those
    who live far away?
  • Has technology helped you with your schoolwork?
  • Have you learned new skills and gone to college or into a new job as a result?
  • Have you traced your family’s history or been reunited with a loved one?
  • Has technology helped you to overcome a personal challenge or a disability
    and change your life?
  • Has your company invested in technology such as a website, and increased
    your revenue, profits or the number of people you employ?
  • Has technology helped improve your working life by changing the way you
    work, communicate with others, etc?
  • Has technology helped you balance your home and working life?

If you have a story about how technology has worked for you then Glasgow City council want to hear
about it.

The Application Process and Prizes

There are 5 categories in the competition:

  1. 12 and under
  2. 12-18 or in full time further/higher education *Those under 16 require parental
    consent
  3. Adult
  4. Senior
  5. Small, medium enterprise or voluntary organisation

The competition is open to

  • Everyone who lives in Glasgow or who is at school or studying on a full time
    basis in the City
  • Small, medium enterprises based in Glasgow (up to 250 employees)
  • Voluntary organisations based in Glasgow

The winners in each category will be invited to an awards ceremony in Glasgow
City Chambers where they will be presented with a PC and software, a 12-month
broadband connection and tailored training. These excellent prizes are provided
courtesy of our partners Hewlett Packard, Microsoft and Thus.

If you have a story to tell, complete the attached form and email to:
e-gov@council.glasgow.gov.uk by 31st March 2005, specifying the category you
wish to enter.
