New Horizon July News

NH Band Returns

This month sees the long awaited return of the famous New Horizon band. The fab 5 piece will be performing at the Easterhouse festival which takes place on the 31st of July at Auchinlea Park. The band have been tuning up in preparation for their first performance since the Bishoploch community open day and have added a few new songs to an existing set. Singer and project worker Sandra McKenzie said “The festival is a great day for the community and I cant wait to be a part of it”.
All songs performed by band are written by clients of the New Horizon project.

Running Strong

The New Horizon running club is on the verge of entering a record number of participants in the Glasgow half marathon and 10k race. 10 members of the service aim to take part in the run which takes place on the 22nd of August. Organiser of the running club Henry Curran said “This number of entrants from the project is just another example of the growing awareness of health issues within the community and the success of the programme”

Outward Bound

Stay tuned to the website for news and pictures of the residential week in Lochgoilhead. Staff and clients from the project will take part in activities at the outdoor center based at the loch.
