Trondra group at the Borders
Borders Books at the Glasgow Fort Shopping Centre have agreed to stock a small supply of their new book, “Hidden Histories: Greater Easterhouse – More Than Just a Scheme”. Supported by John Wheatley College , Glasgow City Council’s Open Museum and the National Library of Scotland, the group have investigated and researched local history of the area, using first-hand accounts, historical references and parish records to provide a vivid picture of Easterhouse’s past. The book is a beautifully crafted work, with photographs, reminiscences and colourful narrative from Easterhouse’s own residents.
Borders Bookshop at the Fort
Borders Books are keen to support local projects and were delighted to have the group come along to see their own work in the ‘Old Glasgow’ section of the bookshop. Events and Workshops The group are planning to hold a series of events and workshops on social research techniques in January 2007 which might be relevant for those budding genealogists out there.
Pictured here with copies of the book are group members, accompanied by their tutor, Laura Edwards and the Strategic Marketing Executive for Borders Books, Stephanie Harold.
