Interested in working within the media sector?

We are looking to recruit, enthusiastic people who are keen to work as part of a team and be involved in using (and learning to use) new media as a means of producing broadcast quality material.

You must be over 16 and unemployed.

Programme will last up to 13 weeks and will focus on some of the following areas:

  • Music Invention and DJ style activities
  • Current affairs both locally and nationally
  • College affairs
  • Support for current programmes such as the Talking Book for the Visually Impaired
  • Learn how to record, edit, produce (script and read) and broadcast quality newsworthy material
  • Work solo where required
  • Work as part of a team
  • Work to deadlines
  • Learn about the main concepts surrounding the Creative Industries
  • Learn about design concepts that support broadcasting, and;
  • Learn how to use digital support mechanisms to support the project

Participants must be willing to work hard and be good all round team players.

Salary/ Hours  

35 hours per week

16 -18 years: £4.50 per hour

More than 18 years: £5.35 per hour
