Glasgow schools use local Learning Links

Lochend Family Learning web links pages can now be found on the Glasgow Schools website 'The GEN'. When school staff go on to the Internet they can see a news article on the home page about the project. More details can be found on the news page and the Learning Links can be found under “Hyperlinks and tasks for Environmental Studies topics” in The GEN's links page.

Lochend Learning Links on the web

Online support for school topics is available to anyone with access to a computer as web links pages. Over 50 pages with Internet based resources, supporting Primary and Secondary topics and Local History learning, have been set up through the project. Each page has hyperlinks to great websites, a description of the website and a task to do. This could be an interactive game, information to find out or a quiz.

The sites have proved very popular with children and adults. The children enjoy the interactive games, having fun whilst learning. The most popular Primary page is Materials -Three Little Pigs.

If you have joined us from The GEN, Welcome!!

Lochend Family Learning Project is also arranging visits for primary school pupils in the Greater Easterhouse Area, to a Learning Centres nearby, to develop their computing skills during school time. Family members are welcome to come along, and the children will be the IT teachers for their family members!

Homework clubs

Support for homework for local children has been created by the Lochend Family Learning Project in partnership with the Learning Centres as after school IT homework clubs. You can find these at The Glenburn Centre, The Hub, The Pavillion and coming soon… FARE.
