Easterhouse EastFest concert will hit all the right notes
Tomorrow’s music stars gather for the future of the East end.
Rising stars of the Scottish music scene will show support for young people in the East end by performing at Eastfest at The Bridge on 27 March 2008.
EastFest is organised by local youth
Eastfest has been organised by Innerzone, part of the Wellhouse Community Trust, to help support youngsters aged 14 – 25 years old who are keen to learn new skills. The youngsters will be responsible for the show’s lighting and projections and the event will give them a taste of what it’s like to work in the music industry.
Rhythm Base Drum Store kit and lessons to be raffled
For those who fancy themselves as the next Roger Taylor or Keith Moon, Glasgow’s Rhythm Base drum store are supplying an electric drum kit along with five free half hour drum lessons to be raffled off at the show.
Ross Ferguson, 25, Music co-ordinator for Innerzone, said:
“The aim of the project is to bridge the gap between what the kids learn in school and college and to give them hands-on experience of the practical end of the music industry.
The youngsters are gaining invaluable skills and positive experience and we hope that they will use this knowledge to help us put on our future events and form a new promotions company.”
