Attic Lights shine in the East
Hot new Glasgow Band, Attic Lights, enthralled fans at The Bridge in Easterhouse last weekend.
The event, organised through John Wheatley College Sound
Engineering team and hosted by Platform, included
sets from
talented local bands, Alex Wayte, The Travels and
Local Tour Guide.
Attic Lights airing a great new single “God”

Pictured with the band are Angela White and Sharon
McCance, HNC Sound students who recorded and filmed an
in-depth interview with the lads themselves.
The gig ended with an exciting and melodic set from Attic Lights, with their close four-part harmonies (or “Funky Beach Boys” as drummer, Noel O’Donnell puts it..) punctuating a tight, slick performance of a selection from their album due out in September. This included an airing of their great new single “God”, due out on the 12th May on Island Records.
College students organised the gig
Behind the logistics and organisation of the event lay the skills of the College’s HNC Sound Engineering students, who, collaboratively with Platform, put together an entire evening of interviews, Question & Answer session and, finally, the gig itself.
Sharon, who conducted the interview in the College’s recording studios, said;
The guys were great - really grounded and very into their music – and it was a pleasure interviewing them.
Her fellow HNC students worked hard to ensure a glitch-free evening for the crowd who came along. Angela said;
This has been another great opportunity to put all we’ve learned into practice in a really hands-on way. It’s been exciting to be part of such a successful event and I’m sure the audience feels the same. All the bands playing tonight gave a fantastic performance and we’re hoping to have more of the same.
