Master bedroom

On entering the master bedroom you will notice the ceiling and cornice have continued through from the dinning hall into the master bedroom.

Private entrance

If you look straight ahead on entering you will notice the shape of a door in the corner of the east gable. This is where the fortified wall joined the hall and this doorway could have given access to the battlements or a staircase down into the courtyard. A private entrance for the lord or lady of the manor.
Now is the exit through the dininghall and down the stairs to the courtyard.
