"Nuttin' Tae Dae" - Lochend High Project
Nuttin' Tae Dae" was a three week project
devised by Real: Creative Learning and John Wheatley College.
The project involved using drama and multi-media technology
as a vehicle for developing individuals’ learning
ability, both creatively and innovatively. Their remit
was to depict positive and negative images which portrayed
personal thoughts and feelings of Easterhouse and the
surrounding areas.
The following images were captured by 5 Third Year pupils
from Lochend Community High.

section to see more.
These images along with comments made by the photographers,
and poetry written by other 3rd Year pupils have also
been published in book form, entitled “Easterhouse
Visions and Voices”. This book seeks to give the
young people of Easterhouse a voice; a way to express
their vision for a safer and healthier community. I am
always amazed by what we learn when we take the time to
listen to the ideas generated by young people. Youth culture
generally never receives the opportunity to produce books
or speeches as a means of voicing their opinions. However
by giving them a camera, you give them the opportunity
to show us the world through their eyes; give them a pen
and they have the opportunity to be heard. Without their
perspective, we cannot identify the full range of community
issues that need to be addressed, or deal with the unique
challenges that our young people of today face.
