The Snakes & Ladders Workshop is a large 10ft x 10ft Snakes and Ladders game developed by Barnardo’s where people themselves act as the counters. The aim of the workshop is to help adults understand the difficulties young people face growing up, this is done by altering the rules of the game to reflect the obstacles young people face in their daily routines.
By taking part young people are given the power to highlight issues which they feel strongly about to people, who make decisions in their community, and adults are able to experience life as a young person, how it feels to be excluded and so take action to ensure that this doesn’t take place so often in the community.
Young people involved are provided with support and training to develop the games of the rules and to run workshops using the game.
If you are a young person and you would like to get trained on how to use the Snakes & Ladders Workshop, or if you are an adult, who would like to book a training session, please contact:
